Candidates based within a commute to our client’s office in either Greenwood Village, Colorado or Omaha, Nebraska and can be fully onsite will be given preference. This role will start out mainly in Java but move toward C#/.Net as our client bridges the gap between legacy applications and their Azure cloud modernization effort. This position will be responsible for getting other team members up to speed on C# and the .Net framework.The Software Development Engineer designs, develops, tests, installs, and maintains systems, applications, networks, and/or telecom and related processes to meet the functional objectives of the business. They will support existing systems and may be responsible for leading technical aspects of a project.The ideal candidate is proficient in Java (v 17 or above), Spring/Spring Security/Spring Boot, SQL, as well as being familiar with JavaScript, CSS, and HTML elements. They will also need to have experience with .NET Development and is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications built on Microsoft’s .NET framework using languages such as C#, VB.NET, and F#.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain applications using Java, Spring/Spring Boot/Spring Security as well as C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, or .NET 6/7+Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend servicesIntegrate applications with databases using Entity Framework (EF) / EF Core and SQL ServerCollaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologiesWrite clean, maintainable, and scalable code following industry best practicesConduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and perform performance optimizationsMaintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.Ensure application security using best practices such as authentication, authorization, and OWASP guidelinesCreate documentation and participate in architectural discussions Required Skills & Qualifications6+ years of back-end development experienceStrong proficiency in Java as well as C# and the .NET ecosystemExperience with Spring/Spring Boot/Spring SecurityExperience with ASP.NET Core, MVC, and Web APIWorking knowledge of SQL Server, Entity Framework, LINQFamiliarity with Azure (App Services, Functions, Storage, Key Vault)Knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patternsExperience with unit testing (xUnit, MSTest, NUnit)Strong understanding of REST architectureProficiency with Git and CI/CDExcellent debugging and problem‑solving skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with microservices architectureKnowledge of Docker and containerized deploymentsExposure to Blazor, React, or AngularExperience with message brokers like Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, or KafkaAnticipated rate while on contract will be within a range of $63-70/hr.
