Located in Minneapolis, MN, Mid-Continent Engineering prides itself on timely, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site Quality Manager role located in Minneapolis, MN. The Quality Manager will oversee and enhance the quality management system, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include leading quality assurance activities, managing internal and external audits, developing and maintaining quality control processes, overseeing defect analysis, training team members on quality standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products to clients.Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following: Training, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating the quality department employees.Scheduling and prioritizing jobs through the Quality Department. First Piece Inspections, FAI, Completing AS9102’s. Assisting in preparing FAI submissions, as appropriate.Deployment of Quality Core Process; Final Inspection, First Piece Inspection, Receiving InspectionMaintaining MRB Process and nonconforming materialsPOC for Mid-Continent Engineering, LLC CustomersVoice of the CustomerCorrective Action Process, CAPA, use of 4 by 5 WHY Problem-Solving Tool, Supplier Corrective ActionPerform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience:High school diploma or G.E.D; a degree in related field is highly preferred.5+ years of Mechanical Inspection experience in a machining / metal working environment.5+ years of management / supervisionWorking knowledge of Blueprint Reading and GD&TExtensive experience with mechanical test equipment, granite open plate inspection, CMM, etc.Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook. Epicor ERP software experience is a plus. Formal problem-solving experience.Excellent knowledge of Quality Management Systems and Implementation, Lead Auditor experienced in ISO9000 or AS9100. Excellent knowledge of problem-solving tools and possess the skills to train and mentor.Strong knowledge of business process development and, lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methodologies.Must be able to effectively communicate detailed information both verbally and written forms.Must be able to understand, implement, and train new ideas, techniques, and tools effectively.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. All office personnel must abide by the PPE guidelines (safety glasses, safety-toed boots that are provided per the company policy guidelines) when entering the production floor or if a requirement of a department that individual is entering or working in.
