Spanish Immersion Teacher

Clyde F. Brown Elementary School is seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic First Grade Teacher. This position is within our dynamic Spanish Immersion Program. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a rich, supportive, and academically rigorous learning environment for our first-grade students as they begin their acquisition of Spanish during their first year in the program.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and implement curriculum and instructional activities for a first-grade Spanish Immersion classroom, integrating language acquisition strategies across all subject areas.Deliver instruction primarily in Spanish with strategic use of English to ensure comprehension and support for students at the beginning stages of immersion.Establish and maintain a strong classroom management system that promotes student respect, engagement, and a positive learning culture.Collaborate with the Spanish Immersion Team and school staff to align instruction and share best practices.Assess student progress regularly and provide appropriate feedback and differentiation.Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and the immersion program model.Required Qualifications & ExperienceFluency in both Spanish and English is mandatory.Prior experience teaching in a Dual Language or Immersion setting, preferably at the elementary level.Specific experience with the beginning stages of an immersion program and the unique pedagogical approaches required for young language learners.Massachusetts Elementary or Early Childhood Teaching Certification required.Demonstrated ability to implement effective, positive, and proactive classroom management strategies.A passion for working with young children and a deep commitment to bilingual education.Technological literacy required.Excellent interpersonal skills required.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Principal, Superintendent and/or School Committee may find appropriate and acceptable.SALARY: Per Unit A, Teachers Collective Bargaining AgreementThe Millis Public Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, gender, gender identity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, immigration status, or homelessness.Candidates should submit a letter of application, a resume, proof of certification, transcripts, and three letters of reference
