With 22,000 clients, including 93% of the Fortune 100, and 32,000 employees across 28 countries, RRD brings the expertise, execution, and scale designed to transform customer touchpoints into meaningful moments of impact.Job Description1st shift *Operate plate making equipment to correctly produce lithographic and/or flexographic plates from digital files.Responsibilities:Impose images and operate plate making, bending/tabbing, and sheering, equipment to prepare plates for pressReview images produced on plate for defects or errorsMaintain production documentationResponsible for physical creation of flexographic and/or lithographic platesMay replenish materials necessary in automatic plate processors and perform routine light maintenance on equipmentMay maintain inventory for plate making materialsReview electronic files that are received from clients and check them for thoroughness and completeness in advance of the plate making processUsing electronic page layout software (desktop publishing software) to manipulate the format of the print job to the dimensions of the paperDetermine page layout, accounting for folds, trims, bleeds and gripper, and add crop marks and color bars as necessaryIdentify missing or problematic components and communicate them to the CSR, customer and production personnelMay prepare color proofs for customer reviewPerform quality checks on finished plates before releasing to manufacturingPerform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on platemaking equipmentOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required, 2 year technical degree or certification preferred1+ years of print or graphic design experienceMust be able to work with various graphic design and layout software applications commonly used on Mac's and PC'sA thorough understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) from different operating systems (Mac and PC) is requiredExperience with imposition software (Mac) and Adobe Creative Suite software (PC) is preferred.Advanced color management skills preferredMust have the ability to output digital files to various output devicesMust have an understanding of the printing processMechanical skills using small hand tools in order to make minor repairs and perform maintenance on platemaking equipmentAdditional InformationThe pay range for this role at the noted location is $18.69 to $27.600 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
