Location: Houston, TX, US
Job Description
Experience: Senior Level
Salary: $60 - $80 per hour
What you'll do
Manage and produce recurring management reporting packages, including monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports for senior leadership
Oversee variance analysis — actuals vs. budget vs. forecast — and present clear, actionable commentary to stakeholders
Coordinate with FP&A, accounting, and operations teams to gather data and ensure reporting accuracy and timeliness
Maintain and enhance existing reporting models and dashboards; identify process improvement opportunities
Support month‑end close activities and ensure internal controls around reporting are followed
Serve as the primary liaison between finance leadership and reporting stakeholders during the engagement
Document processes and ensure a smooth knowledge transfer at the conclusion of the engagement
What we’re looking for
5+ years of experience in financial reporting, FP&A, or management reporting — ideally within the energy, oil & gas, or commodities sector
Proven ability to independently own and manage a reporting function with minimal onboarding time
Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced modeling); experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and BI/reporting tools
Exceptional communication skills — comfortable presenting financial data to executive audiences
High attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Prior consulting or interim finance experience is a strong plus
CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation preferred but not required
About the role
Based out of the Galleria area in Houston, this hybrid role offers the opportunity to work at the center of a sophisticated finance operation in a well‑capitalized organization. You will own the end‑to‑end internal reporting process — from data gathering and consolidation through to executive‑ready deliverables — and serve as the primary point of contact for finance leadership during the engagement. This is not a supporting role; you will lead the function independently.
