Housekeeping Floor Technician

Accela Springfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our Environmental Services team. This is a full-time, day shift position for someone who takes pride in their work and understands that a clean, safe environment plays a huge role in resident comfort and care.We’re looking for a team player who shows up consistently, works hard, and treats our residents and coworkers with respect—because here, everyone matters.Position SummaryThe Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all flooring throughout the facility. This role supports infection control, safety standards, and the overall experience of residents, visitors, and staff.Key ResponsibilitiesStrip, wax, buff, and maintain all types of flooring (VCT, tile, carpet, etc.)Operate floor care equipment including buffers, scrubbers, and extractorsPerform routine and deep-cleaning floor projects as scheduledMaintain clean, safe, and sanitary conditions throughout the buildingFollow proper chemical usage and safety proceduresSupport the Environmental Services team with general cleaning duties as neededRespond promptly to spills, safety hazards, and special requestsInteract respectfully with residents, families, and staffQualificationsPrior experience as a floor technician or in environmental services preferredKnowledge of floor care equipment and cleaning chemicalsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and safety awarenessAbility to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periodsDependable attendance and a positive attitudeWhy Work at Accela SpringfieldFull-time, consistent day shift schedule (7am - 3pm) Competitive payComprehensive benefits packageSupportive management and team-oriented environmentA workplace where your work is noticed and appreciatedOpportunity to make a daily difference in residents’ livesAccela Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
