Our diverse portfolio enables major cargo integrators, manufacturers, aircraft operators, and freight forwarders to adapt quickly to the demands of today’s fast-moving supply chain.Operating a fleet of more than 120 aircraft—including the Saab 340B, Embraer 120, Fairchild SA227, Beechcraft 1900, and Beechcraft 99—Ameriflight delivers reliable service from bases across the U.S.About The PositionReporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will support core accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls.Key Duties And ResponsibilitiesEnsuring transactions for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and inventory are recorded properlyRecording timely and accurate month-end journal entries and performing account reconciliationsEnsuring revenue and expense recognition is classified correctly and consistentlyPreparing monthly internal financial reportingPerforming fiscal year-end close activities and assisting with activities and requirements of external auditorsProcessing monthly/quarterly payments and filing returns for Federal Excise Taxes and various state tax obligationsWorking with external tax preparer on the completion of annual tax returnsContinually seeking and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve accounting operations through technology and process efficiencies Other duties as assigned to meet organizational requirementsBenefitsAmeriflight strives to provide our employees with a good work-life balance and are constantly working to improve our benefitsCompetative SalaryOpportunity for growth and promotionMedical, Dental, and Vision benefitsCompany provided Life Insurance401K with company matchVacationRequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting Minimum of two years work experience in general ledger accountingCPA preferredSound knowledge of accounting standards and procedures, including GAAPExperience with accounting software, preferably OracleStrong analytical skills with attention to detailAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft 365Strong time management and organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Additional RequirementsMust be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.Must meet airport badging requirements, including TSA security background check.Valid driver’s license and compliance with company insurance criteria required.Physical RequirementsThis role primarily operates in a standard office environment and involves prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and using standard office equipment.
