Middle School/High School Band Teacher (Gr. 6-12)

DescriptionPosition Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and student-centered Band Teacher to lead and grow our instrumental music program serving students in grades 5-12. This is a split-building position working with both middle school and high school students, with responsibilities spanning beginning band through advanced ensembles.Key Responsibilities:Teach instrumental music courses for grades 6-12, including middle school and high school bandPlan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instructionDirect and coordinate concert bands and performances throughout the school yearOrganize and lead the marching band program, including summer rehearsals and fall performancesProvide individual and small group lessons to support student growthCollaborate with colleagues, administration, and families to support student successMaintain and manage music inventory, equipment, and facilitiesPreferred Timeline & Expectations:Preferred candidates will be available to begin onboarding earlyParticipation in summer marching band is strongly encouraged to ensure a successful fall season (mid-to-late August start)Opportunity to offer summer lessons is available and encouragedQualifications:Valid Wisconsin teaching license in Instrumental MusicStrong knowledge of instrumental pedagogy across grade levelsExperience directing bands and/or marching band preferredAbility to build positive relationships with students, staff, and communityWhy Join Us?Supportive school and community environmentOpportunity to shape and grow a comprehensive 5-12 instrumental music programStrong tradition of student involvement in music and extracurricular activities
