Senior Staff Accountant
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This senior-level individual contributor role is responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong technical accounting background with the ability to work independently while collaborating across departments.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reportsManage the full month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and consolidationsOversee general ledger maintenance and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and classifiedPerform detailed account reconciliations and variance analysisAssist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projectionsSupport external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and responding to auditor inquiriesEnsure compliance with GAAP, IFRS (if applicable), and internal accounting policiesReview and approve journal entries and reconciliations prepared by junior accountantsManage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and lease accounting (ASC 842)Handle complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), inventory, or intercompany transactionsProvide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-makingAssist with tax provision calculations and coordinate with external tax advisorsIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operationsMentor and provide guidance to Staff Accountants and Accounting SpecialistsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required); CPA preferred5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environmentStrong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standardsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, index/match, etc.)Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar) – [specify your system if applicable]Solid understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance (a plus)Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsHigh attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong communication and interpersonal skills
