As one of the world’s leading law firms, we seek dynamic individuals who share our commitment to service, innovation, and professional growth.Job TitleManager, Public Relations & CommunicationsLocationWashington, D.C.Regular/TemporaryRegularJob Description SummaryWe have an immediate opening in our Communications department for an experienced and motivated Manager, PR & Communications.Working closely with the Chief Communications Officer and colleagues globally, the Manager, PR & Communications will develop, manage and implement communications plans that support the firm’s strategic priorities while elevating its brand and position in the market.The Manager, PR & Communications will provide ongoing PR and communications support, playing a key role in the day-to-day management of the firm’s media relations and acting as communications counsel for a number of assigned practice areas and key individuals.Job DescriptionIn this capacity, the Manager, PR & Communications will:Identify, manage and deliver opportunities for the firm to elevate its profile and reputation in the market through media coverage and other external communications channels;Develop and maintain relationships with relevant reporters and editors;Take the lead on drafting and editing of PR and communications materials, including press releases, pitches, media briefings, messaging, Q&As and presentations;Build and nurture effective relationships with partners and other key stakeholders;Prepare partners and other stakeholders for media engagement, including developing materials such as briefings, key messages and talking points;Assist and support senior members of the communications team with issues management;In conjunction with senior team members, provide regular oversight of and guidance to external PR agencies in their efforts to support the firm, practices, and the communications team more broadly; Coach junior members of the communications team;Work beyond normal business hours, as needed; andAdditional projects and responsibilities as assigned.ProficienciesExcellent organizational and multitasking skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;Strong people skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing;Sound judgment and excellent attention to detail;Familiarity with business and legal terms and jargon;Ability to operate confidently in a fast-paced, high-performance environment;Strong leadership skills, including experience managing direct reports and external agencies; andWork beyond normal business hours, as needed.QualificationsAt least 7+ years of experience in public relations, preferably within legal or professional services (required). PR agency experience a plus;Proven experience managing PR strategy across multiple jurisdictions in the United States; Global experience a plus;Significant media relations experience essential; strong existing legal and business media relationships desired;Demonstrated success developing and implementing PR plans and activities, and securing high-profile media coverage;Ability to influence and build trust with individuals at all levels of an organization, including senior and executive level personnel; andExperience with issues management and ability to remain calm and clear-headed when responding to media attention involving sensitive topics.The salary wage range for Washington, D.C. that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $125,800 and a maximum of $163,500 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.Employees will be provided with an excellent career opportunity in a collaborative environment, in addition to a generous total compensation package with the opportunity to earn bonuses based on individual contribution and firm profitability.The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
