The teacher assistant will participate in all activities necessary to support students in the least restrictive environment across all educational settings.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist the teacher in the preparation of materialsWith direct supervision of the teacher , guide individual and small group instructionAssist in behavior management under the direction of the teacherParticipate in team planning meetings, staffing, parent conferences during regular work hours as requested by the teacherParticipate in professional development as requested by administrationWork collaboratively with the school team to improve services for studentsAssist with behavioral and social/emotional support for students including but not limited to implementing positive behavioral strategies, de-escalation interventions, physical prompting or safe physical restraints (if certified) under the direction of the school teamDress appropriately at all times consistent with the school, work site, and community standardsMaintain classroom order, safety and materialsCommunicate student needs and performance including behavior concerns to appropriate staffImplement and support academic, behavioral and communication plansMaintain ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about studentsPerform such other duties and services under the supervising teacher's directionAssist with the direct supervision of students across all settings
