Forklift Mechanic
Forklift Mechanic Edison, NJ 08837 Pay: $30-$40 per hourSchedule: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. shop hours We are NOT seeking forklift operators; this role is geared towards those with experience repairing forklifts or other heavy equipment. Candidates need minimum 3+ mechanical experience. Family-owned company has been in business for 49 years and becoming one of the leading forklift dealerships in the Tri-State area, and one of the leading Komatsu dealers in the country and currently service NY, NJ and Eastern PA. We are currently looking for an experienced technician or mechanic to work in our Edison, NJ location. Our mechanics will be required to accurately diagnose and repair all company and customer equipment. BENEFITS:Union Pension PlanMedical, Dental, Vision benefits availableVacation TimeRetirement Plan OpportunitiesOvertime OpportunitiesCompetitive wagesSupplemental Pay (bonus pay, commission pay, signing bonus) PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Job will require IC forklift repairs, including:Complex diagnostic on all makes and models | Large repairs, such as transmission overhauls, engine rebuilds, replacements, etc. | Diagnostic and repair of fuel systems (Gas, LPG, & Diesel)Electric forklift repairs: Diagnosis of complex wiring issues | Battery and charger diagnostic and repairHydraulic system repairsBrake and steer axle system repairsComplete scheduled PM and repair assignments within the time frame allottedUse diagnostic tools to test forklift componentsPerform quality inspections on junior technicians' repairs and services Skills Required:The ability to stand and walk for long periods of timeComputer proficient, with history of working with digital workorder systems and computer diagnostic toolsEmployee must be able to push, pull, carry, grasp, reach and crouch when needed for the jobEmployee must be able to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employeesJob will require the employee to interpret documents, comprehend basic instructions (written or verbal), apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasksEmployee must be able to analyze information and write a diagnosis on work ordersThe ability to decipher different colorsMust be able to work individually and as a team QUALIFICATIONS:Prefer 3 or more years' experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or related mechanic jobsStrong mechanical ability and troubleshooting skillsDeadline and detail-orientedAbility to lift 50 lbs.Willingness to learnAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment All candidates will be required to undergo a criminal, drug screening and motor vehicle background check.
