Medical Scheduler

MidSouth OBGYN, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is looking to add a full time Medical Scheduler to their team!The Medical Scheduler embraces a strong commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience with every interaction. This role ensures each patients' encounter is professional, warm, and caring while meeting a patient's individual needs.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAnswering telephones and emails as well as common questions about surgical times, appointments, and instructionsAssist patients in filling out forms and collect fees such as co-pays, co-insurance, and any other monies dueEnsures patients have proper medical clearance and pre-surgical testing as neededEnters notes/special instructions needed for scheduling in the electronic medical recordScheduling patients' appointments, surgeries, and obstetric deliveries. Sending reminders to patients, and scheduling emergency and add-on surgeriesEnsuring adequate preparation for surgeries by scheduling the necessary equipment and procedure rooms and maintaining the surgical inventoryUnderstanding surgical procedures, such as the necessary time a surgery takes and the medical staff necessary, to properly maintain a surgical scheduleProviding patients with pre- and post-operative instructionsManaging surgical documents, gathering, and inputting patients' information, and entering post-surgery data into patients' recordsEnsuring all surgical cases are scheduled in a timely manner in accordance with the Physician or Surgeon's directionsMaintains confidentiality of patient and company related businessOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Other AbilitiesA high school diploma or equivalentKnowledge of customer service principles and practicesProficient in computers and relevant software applications and practice management technology including electronic recordkeeping is preferredKnowledge of multi-line phone systemDemonstrated initiative and strong organizational skillsExceptional interpersonal communication skills with a positive toneAbility to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignmentsDeals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgementProven achiever, not afraid of ambitious goal setting and high expectationsStrong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating with the publicStrong organizational skills; must be able to manage and prioritize multiple workstreams and patient interactions simultaneouslyWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?As a full-time team member, you will have access to a range of benefits to include Health Care Plan (medical, dental & vision), Retirement Plan with a generous company match, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (because we work hard and play hard), Short-Term (at no cost to you) and Long-Term Disability...not to mention a team of smart, passionate and friendly people!WHY TOGETHER WOMEN’S HEALTH (TWH)?Because we do things a bit differently here.
