Camera Image Quality Test Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Camera Image Quality Test Engineer for a Contract with a client in Cupertino, CA. This role focuses on evaluating camera image and video quality through lab and real‐world testing to identify issues and validate new features.Rate Range: $50/hour to $52/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Camera Image Quality Test Engineer job responsibilities include:* Plan and execute lab and real‐world image/video quality tests, including night/low‐light evaluations, to validate new features and algorithms.* Develop and refine test methodologies, metrics, and test plans for image quality (subjective/objective) and ISP/3A evaluation.* Identify, reproduce, and triage algorithm issues; perform initial root‐cause analysis and file clear defect reports with supporting data.* Collaborate directly with development teams to define test strategies for video features and drive quality feedback loops through iterative testing.* Calibrate, maintain, and operate lab equipment and test rigs; ensure test environments are controlled and repeatable.* Summarize results, create dashboards/reports, and present findings to cross‐functional teams-including executive demos-to inform product decisions.Required Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).* Minimum 3 years of hands‐on image quality testing or camera performance evaluation experience.* Strong knowledge of subjective and objective image quality assessment, ISP pipelines, and 3A (AF/AE/AWB) evaluation, with proven experience in both lab and real‐world testing.* Ability to identify and analyze algorithm bugs, summarize findings clearly, and present results to cross‐functional engineering teams; MATLAB or Python experience is a plus.If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
