Field Construction Coordinator
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Construction Coordinator to join our team at K&A Engineering in Liberty, NY. You’ll be part of a dynamic, people-focused team where your expertise, ideas, and contributions will be valued and celebrated.Role ExpectationsOnsite presence during active work; observe contractor activities and document progressInspect work for compliance with specifications, quality standards, and schedulesInspect incoming materials; coordinate deliveries between Customer Stockroom and ContractorMaintain daily onsite as-built plans and comprehensive H&S, Environment, and Quality binderIdentify and resolve field problems in collaboration with engineering, inspectors, and contractorsNotify PM of issues, risks, or public complaints; support mitigation planningReview and recommend on Change Orders/Notices and contractor claimsMonitor schedule performance; compare two-week look ahead vs. baselineConduct weekly progress meetings; review contractor’s two-week look ahead scheduleAttend Safety, Environment, and Quality meetings; deliver onsite tips or best practicesProduce weekly/monthly reports and track project KPIsMaintain organized documentation of decisions, progress, and approvalsCommunicate regularly with PM on progress, risks, and action itemsReview contractor invoices and schedules; provide timely feedbackSupport PM with cost, schedule, and quality considerationsAttend training in E STAR/CONVEX; initiate outage requests using these systemsEnsure compliance with company policies, including Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP)What We’re Looking For3–7 years of field coordination, construction management, or utility/energy project experienceAbility to inspect work and materials against specificationsStrong scheduling literacy and meeting facilitation skillsExperience reviewing contractor invoices, schedules, and change ordersProficiency in project documentation and reportingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of safety, environmental, and quality practicesExperience with E STAR/CONVEX or similar systemsUtility, transmission/distribution, or critical infrastructure backgroundFamiliarity with CIP requirementsExposure to constructability reviews and value engineeringPay Range: $40—$48/hourWhy Join K&A?People-First Culture: We put our people at the center of everything we do, creating an environment where your professional and personal growth is a top priority.Innovation & Learning: We encourage continuous learning and invest in your development through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience.Collaborative Team Environment: We believe in the power of collaboration and working together to achieve the best outcomes for our clients and employees.Recognition & Growth: We’ve earned our reputation through uncompromising precision and a commitment to excellence.
