Automation Engineer – AI-Driven & API-First AutomationA highly skilled Automation Engineer responsible for designing, building, and evolving intelligent, API-driven automation solutions that reduce manual effort, accelerate delivery, and enhance operational resilience across enterprise platforms.This role requires strong expertise in Python scripting, deep experience with REST/JSON APIs, and hands-on capability in leveraging agentic AI frameworks by orchestrating AI agents through API endpoints. The focus is on enabling autonomous workflows, intelligent decision-making, and self-healing automation systems.The ideal candidate thrives in complex enterprise environments, collaborates closely with engineering, SRE, and platform teams, and brings a forward-thinking approach to AI-augmented automation while ensuring enterprise-grade security, reliability, and governance.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation solutions using Python and scripting languages to eliminate manual and repetitive operational tasksBuild API-first automation by integrating internal and external systems using RESTful services, webhooks, and event-driven architecturesImplement agentic AI workflows by orchestrating AI agents through APIs to enable autonomous remediation, validation, orchestration, and decision supportDevelop automation integrated with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure platforms, middleware, and application ecosystemsCollaborate with SRE, Platform Engineering, and Application teams to enhance system reliability, resilience, and operational visibilityCreate reusable automation frameworks, libraries, and services that scale across multiple teams and business unitsEnsure all automation solutions meet enterprise standards for security, compliance, auditability, and resilienceDocument automation designs, APIs, AI workflows, and operational runbooks for long-term maintainabilityContinuously evaluate emerging automation and AI technologies to improve efficiency and developer experienceRequired QualificationsStrong experience in Python and Shell scripting for automation, orchestration, and systems integrationHands-on experience working with REST APIs, JSON payloads, authentication mechanisms, and API lifecycle managementSolid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworksExperience integrating automation with infrastructure, middleware, or application platformsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze manual processes and convert them into scalable automation solutionsAbility to work effectively in large, complex enterprise environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience building or working with agentic AI systems, including coordinating multiple AI agents via APIsFamiliarity with LLM-based services, AI orchestration patterns, and AI-assisted decision-making workflowsExperience with containerization and platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShiftExposure to event-driven architectures, asynchronous workflows, or job-based automation modelsExperience in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial services, healthcare, etc.)Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex automation and AI concepts clearly
