This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving sales, developing a high-performing team, and executing the store’s overall business strategy. As a key partner to the business, you will own the day-to-day performance of the store—leading from the sales floor, overseeing operations, and ensuring an exceptional client experience. You will also play a critical role in building the store’s local presence through clienteling, partnerships, and events. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial retail environment and is energized by both selling and leading.Key Responsibilities:Sales Leadership & Client ExperienceDrive and exceed store sales goals through active selling and team leadershipMonitor daily, weekly, and seasonal sales performance; identify opportunities to exceed targetsLeverage multiple revenue streams, including walk-in traffic, client outreach, appointments, and events Analyze sales performance and trends and and implement strategies to maximize performance Coach the team to deliver a brand-led, personalized selling experience Ensure every client interaction reflects the Ellsworth & Ivey standard of serviceTeam Leadership & DevelopmentRecruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing sales team Lead, coach, and motivate team members to achieve and exceed goalsSet clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback and performance managementFoster a positive, accountable, and collaborative store cultureLead by example on the sales floor, especially during peak periodsOperations & Business ManagementOversee daily store operations with a focus on efficiency and consistencyCreate and manage staff schedules aligned with business needsEnsure strong operational execution across POS, cash handling, and inventory processesOversee inventory management, including receiving, restocking, and stock organizationOwn store-level reporting, performance recaps, and action planning Ensure inventory accuracy at all times through consistent monitoring, cycle counts, and adhere to store procedures, supporting accurate reporting for the broader business teamsPartner with the buying team to provide ongoing feedback on product performance and client demand to influence assortment and drive salesVisual Merchandising & Brand ExecutionUphold brand standards across merchandising, store presentation, and storytellingExecute floor sets, product launches, and seasonal transitionsMaintain a polished, visually compelling, and on-brand environmentEvents & Community EngagementOwn and drive the store’s local presence, positioning Ellsworth & Ivey as a key Nantucket destinationIn partner with leadership plan and execute a calendar of in-store events, partnerships, and activationsProactively build and maintain relationships with local businesses, hotels, clubs, and community partners to generate consistent trafficIdentify opportunities for collaborations, trunk shows, and local moments that drive both awareness and revenueAct as a brand ambassador in the community, representing Ellsworth & Ivey with a high level of professionalism and energyTrack event performance including attendance, sales, and client acquisitionDrive client capture and retention from events, converting new customers into repeat clientsPartner with marketing to ensure events are supported across social, email, and in-store storytellingQualifications4–7+ years of retail leadership experience, preferably in fashion or high-touch retailProven ability to drive sales and manage business performanceExperience recruiting and developing teams Strong leadership and team development experienceClient-first mindset with a passion for personalized serviceComfortable analyzing business trends and adapting strategyHighly organized, proactive, and solutions-orientedFlexible schedule, including weekends and peak seasonal periodsWhat Success Looks LikeConsistently delivers against sales and performance goalsBuilds and retains a strong, engaged, high-performing teamCreates a standout client experience that drives repeat businessExecutes events and partnerships that grow brand presence and revenueMaintains a highly organized, visually compelling, and operationally sound storeWork Environment:This role requires flexibility, including opening and closing shifts.
