About the Role: We’re seeking an experienced Structural Professional Engineer PE or SE to join our team in either Yorba Linda or Los Angeles. This role is ideal for someone who combines analytical design skills with practical field experience. You’ll perform structural calculations, stamp engineering plans, oversee field observations, and make real-time design modifications as projects evolve. Key Responsibilities: Perform structural calculations for foundation systems, framing, retrofits, and more Stamp and approve engineering plans, ensuring full code compliance and technical accuracy Conduct on-site field observations to monitor construction quality and conformance to plans Recommend and implement field modifications as needed during construction Ensure code compliance with CBC, IBC, ACI, AISC, and other relevant standards Maintain accurate project documentation and reports Collaborate closely with engineers, production teams, and clients Provide expert technical guidance to clients, city officials, and internal teams What We’re Looking For: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required) California PE license or SE license or additional certifications are a plus 5+ years of structural engineering experience (design and field observation) Strong knowledge of building codes, engineering principles, and structural safety standards Excellent communication and project coordination skills Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Must be physically able to conduct field observations and site visits Perks & Benefits: Competitive pay: $100K–$145K/year Employer contribution toward medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off and holidays Company phone provided Stability: 30+ years in business and growing Schedule: Monday to Friday 8-hour shifts License/Certification: Professional Engineer license – California (Required) Work Location: In-person — Yorba Linda, CA or Los Angeles, CA Must be able to relocate before starting work (if not local) Alpha Structural is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender, sex, ancestry, citizenship status, mental or physical disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, veteran status, or military status.
