HVAC/Mechanical Estimator

Job Title: EstimatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Estimator to join our team, responsible for reviewing prints and visiting sites to create bids. This role requires daily in-office attendance and involves working with a design-build, bid, inspect estimating process. The typical scope of work includes ductwork, plumbing, rooftop units, thermostats, exhaust systems, and grills, focusing mainly on standard office buildings, small healthcare facilities, and retail spaces.Responsibilities+ Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from blueprints, specifications, and related documents.+ Estimate material, labor hours, and job schedules required for completion of construction projects.+ Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes and proposals to ensure they meet specific project requirements.+ Prepare proposals and customer presentations based on blueprints, specifications, and related documents.+ Ensure proposals are delivered accurately and on time every time.+ Perform site visits and inspections to verify conditions, risks, and cost impacts.+ Communicate and maintain contacts and relationships with vendors, contractors, industry peers, individuals, and organizations.+ Work on multiple bids simultaneously and deliver in accordance with deadline objectives.+ Operate and maintain proficiency in all internal estimating systems, technologies, and software.+ Prepare special reports and attend company meetings as required.+ Continually learn and update technical knowledge by attending workshops, classes, and technical meetings.+ Work closely with project managers and field personnel to prepare project change orders.+ Work harmoniously with all internal and external stakeholders.+ Ensure compliance with all project standards, policies, and procedures.Essential Skills+ Construction estimating experience is preferred.+ Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis with a high level of accuracy and detail.+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, manuals, and technical documents.+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.+ Familiarity with estimation, construction, bidding, blueprints, mechanical systems, ductwork, HVAC, plumbing, and exhaust systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ High school diploma or GED equivalent.+ Experience as a mechanical supervisor, field supervisor, project manager, or high-level foreman is preferred if the candidate lacks estimating experience.Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes standard office settings with daily in-office requirements. The role involves frequent site visits to various project locations, which are mainly standard office buildings, small healthcare facilities, and retail spaces. A car allowance of $500 per month and a cell phone allowance of $35 per month are provided. The position requires proficiency in internal estimating systems, technologies, and software.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Valley, MO.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00 - $60.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
