QualificationsMust be 18 or olderMust have 2 years of experience coaching competitive gymnastics and current USAG professional membershipMust possess proven and excellent spotting skills in all areas of tumbling and apparatusThe physical ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skillsAbility to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and proceduresVisual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situationCPR/AED, both Adult & Infant/Child, and First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:American Red CrossAmerican Heart AssociationAmerican Safety & Health InstituteEssential FunctionsConducts organized and safe daily workouts in preparation for competitionResponsible for effective and positive communication with parents, staff and gymnasts, including leading regular meetings with parents and staffResponsible for teaching compulsory and optional routinesProvide assistance to program directorMaintain a safe environment at all timesUnderstand and enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate policies and proceduresKeep equipment in good conditionStay informed about the program specifics such as session dates, prices, classes, days and timesEnsure all participants are registered and in the correct classMaintain accurate records of class attendanceDistribute certificates of achievement and program evaluationsShow enthusiasm, leadership, fairness, and fun through coaching styleAttend training events and instructor clinics when made availableEncourage positive social skills and appropriate behavior
