Senior Buyer
The Senior Buyer manages procurement of raw materials, indirect supplies, and outsourced processing services to support production. This role ensures material availability, maintains accurate inventory levels, and drives supplier performance while partnering with Planning, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Engineering.
ResponsibilitiesProcurement
Issue POs for raw materials, indirect supplies, and OSP services.
Maintain accurate lead times, pricing, and item master data.
Monitor inventory levels and prevent stockouts.
Coordinate with suppliers to manage delivery schedules and resolve issues.
Outside Processing (OSP)
Create and manage OSP orders (heat treat, plating, coating, welding, etc.).
Coordinate logistics for outbound and inbound OSP parts.
Communicate schedules, expedite urgent jobs, and resolve quality/delivery concerns.
Indirect Purchasing
Process MRO, facility, and office supply requisitions.
Request quotes and place orders for maintenance and facility needs.
Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation and standardization.
Inventory Management
Maintain accurate safety stock, reorder points, and min/max levels.
Analyze usage trends and adjust inventory strategies.
Ensure proper documentation and traceability.
Supplier Management
Serve as primary contact for assigned suppliers.
Track supplier performance (OTD, quality, responsiveness).
Support corrective actions and cost‑reduction initiatives.
ERP & Operations
Maintain accurate PO and supplier data in EPICOR.
Review open orders and resolve late or at‑risk deliveries.
Partner with Receiving, Accounting, and Quality to resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
4–7 years of purchasing experience (raw materials, OSP, or MRO).
Manufacturing and inventory management experience preferred.
ERP/MRP proficiency (EPICOR, Oracle, D365, SAP).
Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
