Laboratory Assistant

Job description This key position at CTA Pathology is perfect for anyone in the early stages of their career in Laboratory Science. At CTA Pathology our Lab Assistants work directly with the Technicians. Anyone with qualifying education in biology and chemistry can be trained in high complexity, while continuing to develop and grow. The following criteria is a must: Professional verbal and written communication skills Commitment to the role A passion for patient care A love of teamwork Time management expertise Education in chemistry and/or biology Interest in Laboratory benchwork Job responsibilities: Checking samples to make sure they are in the proper container Matching patient information Entering data to the system Preparing and processing specimens, maintaining lab equipment, and general lab housekeeping Collecting, labeling and preparing specimen for gross dissection Preparing reagents and staining slides for microscopic evaluations Occasionally calling clinics to clarify information Processing paperwork Assembling samples for sectioning and/ or staining Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.50 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Evening shift Monday to Friday Night shift Education: Associate (Preferred) Experience: Clinical laboratory: 1 year (Required) Work Location: In person
