Litigation Special Council
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Litigation Special Counsel with 3 to 7 years of litigation experience to join its Construction Practice Group. This is a full time, non partner track position supporting a high volume practice focused on single family housing matters.This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who is confident managing cases independently and thrives in a fast paced litigation environment. Many matters proceed through arbitration rather than circuit court, requiring strong organizational skills, self motivation, and the ability to handle files autonomously.Responsibilities:Manage all phases of litigation from inception through resolutionDraft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documentsConduct legal research and prepare written advocacy materialsHandle and defend depositionsAttend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trialsNegotiate settlements and assist with dispute resolution strategyWork closely with paralegals and litigation support staffQualifications:3 to 7 years of litigation experience requiredExperience with insurance claims, construction defect, design defect, or related litigation strongly preferredPrior mediation and arbitration experience preferredStrong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skillsProven ability to manage a large caseload independentlyTrial and deposition experience preferredStrong organizational and time management skills requiredExperience supervising support staff or paralegals is a plusJD from an ABA approved law school requiredActive membership and good standing with the Florida Bar requiredCompensation:Expected compensation starts around $140,000 and will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and overall fit.Comprehensive benefits package includes:Medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) retirement planDisability and life insuranceAdoption assistanceDependent backup careQualified candidates should submit:ResumeLaw school transcriptWriting sampleCover letter including office preference
