Quality Control Inspector

About the CompanyWe are seeking a senior-level Quality Control Inspector with deep expertise in Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) and control engineering to support large-scale industrial and pipeline-related projects. This role functions as the owner’s representative in the field, ensuring construction quality, compliance with engineering standards, and alignment with design intent across all phases of construction, cutover, and commissioning.About the RoleThis individual will play a critical role in construction oversight, inspection, and technical validation, working closely with engineering, operations, and construction teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.ResponsibilitiesAct as the owner’s representative, making field-level technical decisions and ensuring contractor accountabilityReview, inspect, and approve construction work performed by contractors, including:Civil/structural installations (cable trays, conduit systems)Electrical and instrumentation (I&E) systemsInstrument installation and integrationProvide construction supervision and inspection support across project lifecycle phasesOversee and supervise system cutover activities and commissioning effortsTrack and manage redlined drawings throughout construction, cutover, and commissioning phasesPerform field walkdowns to verify existing conditions and validate engineering drawingsGenerate daily inspection reports and provide weekly progress/status reportingDevelop strong understanding of process systems, process equipment, and associated control systemsPartner with operations teams to identify and implement control system improvements that enhance safety and reduce environmental riskSupport development of:Construction scopes of workJob plans and execution strategiesTechnical specifications and RFP packagesMaintain and improve documentation, maintenance procedures, and engineering standards for pipeline and facility systemsCreate accurate as-built documentation through field verification and redline markupsQualificationsMinimum 10+ years of experience as an Electrician or Instrument TechnicianAt least 5+ years of construction supervision experience within an I&E or industrial construction environmentStrong ability to read, interpret, and field-verify I&E drawings (design experience is a plus)Working knowledge of PHMSA, OSHA, and applicable industry regulationsDemonstrated expertise with industry standards, including:NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code)NEC Article 250 (Grounding & Bonding)NEC Article 392 (Cable Trays)API RP 500 & 540NFPA 496, 497, and 70EAbility to quickly learn and apply internal engineering and construction standardsStrong organizational, reporting, and communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Self-starter with ability to work independently and cross-functionallyPhysical capability to perform field work (lifting up to 20 lbs, bending, climbing, etc.)Required SkillsMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)Bluebeam RevuCitrixSyncplicityDWG ViewerZoomTWIC Card requiredAbility to travel up to 85%
