Azure Network Engineer

Our client is seeking a *mid-level Network Engineer* to support a major Azure infrastructure initiative and provide hands-on network engineering, troubleshooting, and operational support. This is a *contract-to-hire* opportunity. The ideal candidate will have strong enterprise networking fundamentals, meaningful Azure networking experience, and the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment. Key Responsibilities * Support the expansion and optimization of the client’s Azure network infrastructure. * Help duplicate the existing *Azure East environment into Azure West* to establish regional redundancy and improve disaster recovery. * Implement and support network connectivity for new Azure applications, servers, and services. * Configure and troubleshoot connectivity between *Azure, on-premises infrastructure, corporate offices, remote sites, and external services*. * Support Azure networking components including routing, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, and related connectivity services. * Assist with the implementation and support of *Azure Firewall* and cloud security controls. * Troubleshoot complex network connectivity and performance issues across cloud and enterprise environments. * Support network resiliency, failover, disaster recovery, and regional expansion initiatives. * Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and technical documentation. * Coordinate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams to ensure successful project implementation. * Provide ongoing operational support and participate in network-related projects as needed. * Develop familiarity with *Zscaler* and assist with related connectivity and security requirements. Required Qualifications * Approximately *5–8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience*. * *2–3+ years of hands-on Azure networking experience*. * Strong knowledge of routing, VPNs, DNS, firewalls, and network troubleshooting. * Experience integrating Azure environments with on-premises and remote infrastructure. * Hands-on experience with cloud networking and connectivity. * Experience supporting network resiliency, failover, disaster recovery, or regional infrastructure expansion. * Ability to independently troubleshoot issues and implement network solutions. * Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with *Azure Firewall* and cloud security controls. * Familiarity with *Zscaler*. * Experience supporting Azure regional deployments or disaster recovery environments. * Experience working in hybrid cloud/enterprise network environments.
