Project Engineer - Multifamily Construction
SRM is seeking a detail-driven, collaborative Project Engineer to help keep our construction projects running seamlessly. You’ll manage information flow, coordinate subcontractors, support site operations, and ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard while partnering closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure project success.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesKeep the Project OrganizedManage the flow of documentation - RFIs, submittals, and change ordersReview submittals for accuracy and compliance before they go outKeep logs current and follow up with the right people to make sure deadlines stay on trackMaintain hard copies of contracts and other records so the team always has what they need at their fingertipsCapture and organize project photos and videos for internal updates and marketingSupport Project ManagersGather and track subcontractor pricing for potential change ordersUpdate the Change Order Log regularly and make sure cost impacts are flagged quicklyKeep communication clear between the field and the office when changes come upHelp Coordinate SubcontractorsCollaborate with Superintendents to plan and run subcontractor meetingsTake notes, track action items, and send out Site Instruction Summaries so everyone leaves with clarityFollow up on open items to make sure things don’t stall outSafety & ComplianceStay on top of jobsite postings, safety notifications, and subcontractor safety programsWork with Superintendents and Foremen to keep safety documentation organized and accessibleEnsure compliance requirements are metManage Certified Payroll requirementsRequired Skills & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree1–3 years of construction experienceAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contractsStrong organizational skills with clear, professional communicationProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.)Preferred Skills & ExperienceFamiliar with multi-family or high-rise construction projectsCertifications such as OSHA 30, LEED, etc.Familiar with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling softwareExperience with Certified Payroll requirementsPhysical Requirements: This is primarily a field-based role on active construction sites, with some office responsibilities. This position will require frequent walking, standing, and computer use. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.Travel: Regular travel to project sites within the region.The base salary for this position in the Greater Seattle area is $80,000 - $100,000.
