We are seeking a Process Engineer to support the ramp-up of production on our 2nd shift. This role is critical in ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient, scalable, and capable of meeting increased demand while maintaining high quality standards.
You’ll work cross-functionally with production, quality, and design teams to implement, stabilize, and continuously improve manufacturing processes in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the launch and ramp-up of production on 2nd shift by establishing and optimizing manufacturing processes
Develop and maintain assembly instructions, process documentation, and workmanship standards
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, and cost efficiency
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues (process, equipment, or programming)
Collaborate with production planning to ensure all jobs have proper documentation, tooling, and programming ready for execution
Provide and analyze manufacturing data to track performance against production targets
Partner with Design Engineering on DFX initiatives : Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
Design for Assembly (DFA)
Design for Cost and Test
Support supplier interactions related to manufacturing processes and improvements
Research and recommend new technologies and equipment to increase capacity and efficiency
Assist with programming manufacturing and inspection equipment
Ensure adherence to company quality systems and team member standards
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 2+ years of experience, OR
Associate degree with 4+ years of experience, OR
High school diploma with 6+ years of relevant manufacturing experience
Experience in electronics or electromechanical manufacturing required
Experience working in a regulated quality environment (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or AS9100 preferred)
Skills & Knowledge
Knowledge of circuit card assembly (CCA) processes
Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Design of Experiments (DOE)
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
Ability to analyze data and present findings using charts/graphs
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities
Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization
