The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of Python expertise and possess a deep understanding of distributed computing, big data frameworks, and cloud services. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance server-side applications, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams including UX/UI designers, data engineers, and business stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in architecting scalable solutions, implementing functional requirements, and driving technical excellence across projects. Additionally, this position requires leadership capabilities, as you will mentor junior developers and contribute to strategic planning, digital capability roadmaps, and enterprise architecture initiatives.QualificationsMinimum of 10 years of professional experience in Python development.Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles and Resilient Distributed Dataset (RDD).Solid knowledge of big data querying tools such as Pig, Hive, and Impala.Experience working with NoSQL databases including MongoDB, HBase, and Cassandra.Hands-on experience with big data frameworks like Hadoop, Apache Spark, and Apache Beam.Proficiency in Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or Bottle.Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and REST API integrations.Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL.Knowledge of JavaScript and AngularJS framework is a plus.Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and coach junior team members.Ideal candidates will also have experience with CI/CD pipelines, enterprise application design, and cloud services across AWS, GCP, or Azure.Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable server-side applications using Python.Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.Architect and implement functional requirements aligned with business needs, ensuring high-quality deliverables.Build and optimize back-end features, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.Integrate front-end components and collaborate with UX/UI teams to translate designs into functional applications.Manage testing, bug fixes, and technical documentation to support ongoing maintenance and enhancements.Mentor junior developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.Lead the development of the Domain Model by working closely with business and technical stakeholders to model pharmaceutical data sources effectively.Drive strategic IT initiatives, including multi-year digital capability roadmaps, and develop compelling business cases for digital investments.Maintain awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and external drivers influencing the business domain.Provide technical and strategic leadership, including building high-performance applications and CI/CD systems to ensure continuous integration and delivery.Establish strong partnerships with senior business leaders, acting as a trusted advisor and thought leader in digital transformation efforts.Manage change effectively by planning and executing business process improvements and digital capability implementations.Leverage matrix organizational structures to ensure successful delivery of IT services in support of the US Immunology business.Communicate project status, successes, and challenges clearly and effectively to all stakeholders, managing expectations proactively.Act with urgency and professionalism to resolve issues, remove roadblocks, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.BenefitsJoining OVA Technologies offers a stimulating environment where innovation and professional growth are prioritized.
