Job Title: EHS CoordinatorDepartment: Environmental Health & Safety TeamShift: Nights 545pm-6am or Days 545am-6pm, 2-2-3 fixed schedule (Shift placement will be based on position availability)Direct Report: Health & Safety Unit ManagerType: Non-Exempt; Full-timeAbout the positionWe are looking for an EHS Coordinator to maintain environmental, health, and safety standards within the manufacturing facility and ensuring safety standards are met through inspection and evaluations. This position will have dotted-line responsibility to the Environmental Unit Manager and will support the EHS Team in all areas as required to complete team tasks.Responsibilities are:Provides a positive influence on the safety culture through proper safety attitudes, appearances, and actionsBe the first-line safety presence of the EHS TeamConduct safety patrols to ensure compliance with health and safety policies, procedures, and regulationsWork closely with management and supervisors to ensure proper safety is practiced in the workforceInspect machines for safety devices and machine guard conditionInspect manufacturing workers PPE to ensure proper wear and good working condition of the PPEAssist in the transport and distribution of hazardous chemicals, such as solvents, in the product environmentInspect safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, emergency stops, light curtains, machine guards, eye wash stations, and other equipment as designatedSupport EHS Team in identifying potential safety hazardsAssist in incident investigations by securing the scene, documenting conditions, persons involved, and assisting in the investigation as directed by the person in chargeRespond to fire alarms, assist in evacuations, correct false alarms, and assist incident commanders in the event of a major incidentAssist in annual reviews, inspections, audits, and assessments as needed by the EHS TeamCreate reports on daily activities and events that occur within the assigned shiftAssist in monitoring programs, such as ensuring testing equipment is properly worn or positioned for accurate testing during the shiftPerform other duties as assigned by managementRequirements are:Education:* (Required) bachelor's degree; safety and health related major OR 1+ year(s) of dedicated EHS experience in a manufacturing intensive environmentExperience:* (Required) 1+ year(s) of dedicated EHS experience in a manufacturing intensive environment OR bachelor's degree; safety and health related majorLanguage:* (Required) good command of written and spoken EnglishSkills & Knowledge:Law and Government - Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political processEducation and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effectsPublic Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safe and security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutionsCustomer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
