Team Leader Aviation Product Support Field Service Engineering
OverviewWe are seeking a full-time Team Leader Aviation Product Support Field Service Engineering at Garmin's location in Salem, OR. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Field Service Engineers (FSE) and Field Services Representatives (FSR) of all levels (1, 2, and Senior) focusing on maintaining strategic relationships with Garmin aviation dealers, OEM, and fleet service centers through direct technical support.Core Business HoursEssential FunctionsSupervise FSEs and FSRs of all levels within the product support teamDetermine training needs and develop training requirements to ensure team performanceDesign annual special project goals to challenge, develop, and enrich each team memberBuild and foster healthy team relationships, and drive for goal achievement and resultsCoordinate the collection and dissemination of product issues for EngineeringMaintain key relationships with Garmin distributors/OEMs/fleet service centersMaintain and distribute to management weekly team performance reportsMaintain and distribute to management bi-weekly support activity reportsProvide annual team budget requirementsWork with Aviation Product Support managers to improve product quality and reduce NFF returnsTravel to customer facilities to provide on-site support of avionics installationsInterpret failure trend reports of Garmin equipment to develop responses/action plans to customersProactively work with departments to leverage technical tools to improve customer responsivenessMentor and coach FSEs and FSRs to maximize customer satisfaction and job performanceProvide troubleshooting support to FSEs and FSRsResponsible for ensuring that all customer (OEM, Fleet, Dealer) information and Garmin business information is maintained in strict confidence consistent with the associate’s contractual confidentiality obligations as well as the Proprietary Information/Confidentiality provisions set forth in Garmin’s Associate HandbookPerform the functions of an FSE/FSR as neededApprove debit/credit requestsAdminister DRC access, flyGarmin, Garmin Pilot Dealer Mode, tach timer resets, grant FSE unlocks, and customer account managementTravel and attend industry trade shows, conferences, and business meetings up to 10% of the timeBasic QualificationsBachelor's Degree AND a minimum of 12 years of experience in avionics installation and/or troubleshooting including a minimum of 6 years of experience as a Garmin FSE or FSR and a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in an aviation related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceMust have experience dealing with aviation distributors, OEM manufacturers, and service centersProficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and OracleMust have high level of interpersonal and communication skillsMust be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with othersMust possess broad knowledge of aircraft systems and avionics sub-systemsMust be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to prioritize and handle multiple tasksMust be detail-orientedDesired QualificationsBusiness Administration and Management education or experiencePilot LicenseA&P LicenseGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
