A brief overview:
Provides and manages direct medical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, and care for patients within a recognized area of practice.
What you will do:
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients according to medical staff approved protocol and acceptable standards of practice. Provide medical services and health education to patients and family members. Effectively contribute to the health education of individuals and groups and apply appropriate methods designed to increase each person's motivation to assume responsibility for their own health care. Perform necessary diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Interpret information gathered during the diagnostic process and formulate an appropriate plan of care. Provide quality care for patients, demonstrating appropriate health, safety, and aseptic practices. Recognize and react appropriately to environmental safety factors related to patient care. Effectively provide patient instruction related to environment of care and safety standards. Understand, apply, and support practice policies, procedures, goals, and standards. Meet regularly with the care team for consultation and collaboration as well as with personnel to promote quality care for patients. Assure that appropriate referrals are made for patients. Maintain patient records and accurate information.

Required education, license/certification, or work experience:
Medical Doctor - Board of Medicine licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided and board certified or board eligible. Doctor of Osteopathy - Board of Medicine licensed and qualified to practice medicine in the state that services are provided and board certified or board eligible. Federal Drug Enforcement Admin - US Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Admin state and federal DEA license based on state of practice.
