Patent IP Paralegal
Eckert Seamans is a full-service national law firm with a strong reputation and history of success that spans more than 65 years. With approximately 300 lawyers across a network of 15 offices, we provide clients with proactive, solution-oriented business and litigation counsel. We are seeking an experienced Patent IP Paralegal.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation, filing, and prosecution of domestic and foreign patent applications, including Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications and associated documents
Track docket entries and deadlines
Prepare reports for attorneys and clients
Confer with clients, foreign associates and U.S. Patent and Trademark Office personnel
Conduct patent watch investigations and publication investigations
Arrange for legalization of documents in connection with mergers and change of name documents in foreign countries
Oversee the maintenance fee services provided to our clients by CPA Global, arrange to set-up new accounts, and act as liaison when issues arise
Performs other duties as assigned

Proficient with Office365
Proficient in docketing databases
Proficient in PATTSY WAVE, USPTO Patent Center, WIPO, Global IP Estimator
Proficient in document management systems: iManage preferred.
Knowledge of foreign patent docketing
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required
Paralegal certificate from an ABA qualified program preferred
Minimum five years patent prosecution experience
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
