On call Part time Yard Hostler position for 2 Distribution Centers in Lacey WA available. CDL Class A not required but increases the wage threshold. 8 to 25 hours a week possible. Various hours, various shifts.About US 1 Shorthaul's Yard Jockey Position:PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Correctly move trailers in and out of dock with yard goatsAccurately perform yard audits at end of shiftProper pre- and post-trip inspections and submitting reports indicating truck conditionsAdhere to guidelines of safety-sensitive functions pertaining to job responsibilities within yardResponsible for drop and hookOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by managementKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:Possess a team-player attitudeAbility to read, understand, and demonstrate safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to request and complete trailer moves in the Yard Management System (YMS)Attention to detailEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, REQUIREMENTS:Experience backing 48' to 53' trailers (including in tight spaces and to dock doors)Minimum of 12 months of over the road or trailer spotting, verifiable experience in the last 3 yearsClass A CDL (preferred)May substitute local for over-the-road experienceThis position must pass pre-hire background and drug testPOSITION TYPE:This is a part-time (hourly) positionAbout US 1 Shorthaul:US 1 Shorthaul offers short division logistics services throughout 48 states, leading with integrity, experience, and most of all - safety.
