Billing Specialist

Billing SpecialistBilling Specialist is responsible for auditing bills of lading, handling accounts receivable and accounts payable duties, and receiving and verifying that carrier invoices are accurate. This position will work with both asset and non-asset-based transportation and logistics companies. Billing Specialist responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: Verifies that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures Performs freight bill auditing for internal and external business partners Clarifies any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures Receives and verifies carrier invoices Effectively researches, analyzes and resolves carrier invoice discrepancies Corrects errors or lists discrepancies for adjustment, including communication via phone and/or email with customers and/or carrier partners Works cross-functionally to resolve process and billing issues that do or may cause customer issues Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: High school Diploma or GED required Experience in Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable preferred Previous logistics, transportation, domestic or international experience a plus Knowledge of TL, LTL, Import/Export, Customs, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes a plus Must be proficient in data entry functions Must be organized, have keen attention to detail, and be accurate Must have good communication and problem-solving skills Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word Must be able to handle multiple tasks within specified timeframes Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
