DescriptionPosition Summary:Cast pottery ware in plaster molds by filling molds with slip from supply tanks. Pour excess slip from molds once clay shell has reached specified thickness.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)60% De-mold by pouring excess slip from molds once clay shell has reached specified thickness.20% Pouring molds.10% Set up and tear down of molds.5% Pump slip to fill tanks.5% Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.Supervisory Responsibilities:This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsEducation and Experience:* High school diploma or GEDKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Ability to use hand tools applicable to trade.* Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.* Attention to detail.Special Requirements:Location: Aurora, NYEquipment Used:Rubber scrapers, wire tools, sponges and clay trimmerSafety Equipment: Safety shoesPhysical and Mental Requirements:* Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, crouch, kneel, bend, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists.* Exerts in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.* Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.Environmental Conditions:The worker is subject to dust.Mackenzie-Childs is an EEO EmployerMacKenzie-Childs is an EEO employer and dedicated to fair hiring practices.
