Program Manager

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will help ensure that every Alray scholar and volunteer mentor has a positive experience. You will manage relationships with scholars, mentors, and community organizations while helping strengthen and improve our programs as we continue to grow.Because we are a small organization, every team member wears multiple hats. One day you may be interviewing prospective mentors, and the next day you may be researching and brainstorming resources for a scholar navigating a basic needs challenge. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing direct service with project management and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesYour work will include, but are not limited to:Monitor caseload of 35 scholars and 35 mentors, which might include assessing scholar and mentor engagement, proactively identifying challenges, and connecting scholars and mentors with resources and supportBuild trusted relationships with scholars, volunteer mentors, alumni, and community partnersRecruit and train volunteer mentorsMatch volunteer mentors with scholars, considering various factors to ensure a strong fitFacilitate alumni engagement opportunities with the organization; Identify leadership opportunities for alumni, while leveraging alumni capacity to achieve organizational prioritiesIdentify opportunities to improve systems, policies, and participant experiencesCollaborate with teammates on organization-wide initiatives, events, fundraising activities, and storytellingProgram Manager or Senior Program Manager?We’re hiring at either the Program Manager or Senior Program Manager level. Candidates will be considered for both levels throughout the interview process. Your final title and compensation will reflect your experience, demonstrated competencies, and readiness to perform at the responsibilities of each level.Program Managers are collaborative self-starters who effectively manage multiple priorities, solve problems, seek guidance when appropriate, and contribute to a positive team culture.Senior Program Managers demonstrate a higher level of independent judgment, strategic thinking, project leadership, and operational ownership. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
