Job Responsibilities: This position will cover multiple aspects of a mailroom environment, but the primary duty will be to operate inserting equipment. The Insert Machine Operator is responsible for the set up and operation of the machine assigned. The Operator is expected to achieve an optimum speed while keeping quality and safety in mind. Daily activities focus on achieving given timelines and providing interdepartmental support in a professional, prompt, efficient and courteous manner.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Thorough understanding of all company products and services.
Works directly with the Production Manager and responds to his/her direction
Reads and understands all job ticket instructions, returning incomplete or inaccurate tickets for correction.
Obtains required client and internal sign-offs.
Responsible for job/machine set up; able to adjust machine to job specs.
Operate machine to ensure safety, quality and speed.
Operate the machine solo.
Sort, tray, sack, strap and prepare mail for USPS acceptance.
Return overs and report spoilage.
Cleans and maintains areas surrounding assigned machine.
Maximize quality and speed for each job.
Present suggestions for improvements.
Possess and maintain extensive knowledge of postal and freight regulations/requirements.
Works in tandem with Account Management, Print, and Warehouse to ensure seamless workflow
Responsible for meeting required timelines and completing jobs quickly and accurately
Actively demonstrates support of the company’s mission, policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.

Employment hours: Full-time 40 hours assigned per week plus overtime when needed. Weekend and Holiday work when deemed necessary.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; six months to one-year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of educations and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees in the organization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

o Ability to walk/move throughout facility and distribute paperwork
o Bending and stacking
o Using feet and hands to operate Electric and Manual pallet jack
o Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
