CNC Lathe MachinistPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to set up, program, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision turned components to specification. The ideal candidate will ensure parts meet quality and tolerance requirements, maintain machine performance, and collaborate with production and engineering to meet delivery schedules. This role focuses on safe, efficient machining practices and continuous process improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, load, and operate CNC lathe machines to produce parts according to engineering drawings and work orders.Run CNC lathe programs and make necessary adjustments to feeds, speeds, and tooling to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.Perform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools.Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and process documentation to verify part features and tolerances.Maintain tooling, change inserts, and perform basic machine maintenance and housekeeping to ensure reliable operation.Troubleshoot machine issues, diagnose program or control faults, and coordinate repairs or escalate to maintenance as needed.Document production activities, complete job travelers, and maintain accurate records of setups, tooling, and inspection results.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize programs, reduce cycle time, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.Adhere to safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and company quality standards at all times.QualificationsRequired: Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines with a strong focus on CNC lathe operations.Required: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and follow detailed work instructions.Required: Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and performing inspection checks.Required: Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and good problem-solving skills.Required: High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in machining preferred.Nice to have: Experience with manual turning and traditional lathe operations.Nice to have: Familiarity with Fanuc and Mazak control systems and CNC programming concepts.Nice to have: Broader CNC machining experience and understanding of tooling selection and cutter compensation.Nice to have: Experience with machine controlsNice to have: Previous experience working in a production/manufacturing environment and ISO or Lean manufacturing exposure.BenefitsRelocation Assistance AvailableMedical, Vision, DentalVolunteering OpportunitiesPaid Time Off and Paid Holidays401k Savings Plan with Company MatchParental Leave Email Your Resume In Word ToTim.Mestrich@CyberCoders.comLooking forward to receiving your resume through our website and going over the position with you.
