Senior EstimatorContract RoleThis role can sit in Detroit, MI - Pittsburgh, PA or Charlotte, NCMinimal travel required 5% - 15%$55.00 - $75.00 per hour + benefits includingMedical, Dental, Vision, Paid Holidays, Accrued PTO, 401k with company match after 90 days.DescriptionCoordinate full estimating service efforts for all Construction Specification Institute (CSI) divisions on large, complex work within Lump Sum, Design Build and Construction Management contractual formats.Interpret designs, drawings, specifications, and other contract documentsOperate across multiple delivery systems or be very proficient in one specific type of system. Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Manage the budget, conduct financial forecasting, and resource allocation. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.Thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapt to changing project requirements. Your Key ResponsibilitiesProposal Reviews: Reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, attending pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.Scope Development: Developing and understanding scope requirements and issuing subcontracts for heavy industrial "supporting” trades, such as boilermaker, steel, concrete, piping, and electrical work. Writing proper scopes of work during the bidding phase and upon award, engage in subcontractor proposal review meetings, with ultimate responsibility of final evaluation and negotiation of subcontracts.Cost Preparation: Preparing cost estimate and bid documents for construction projects or services that are used by management in preparation of the bidding process. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of estimate and proposals.Strategic Planning: Identifying competitive edge strategies and follow through to project award. Also identifying, reviewing, and communicating contractual requirements such as risk factors, schedule, insurance, bonding, and penalties with supervisors and developing an action plan for the estimate and project construction. Required QualificationsA bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related program is preferred, or equivalent professional training and experience with high school diploma.5+ years of estimating, preconstruction or related general construction management experience.Proficiency in computer estimating applications (Excel, Estimating Software).Experience using Microsoft Project or Primavera.Verbal and written communication skills.Organizational skills
