Technician, Lab 4, LP/BC

Purpose of the Job Laboratory Technician reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and provides accurate and timely sample results to support quality conformance, process control, customer requirements and improvement projects. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Follow all safety/PPE rules and promote safety culture through audits, inspections and report writing. Understand and uphold the INEOS 20 Principles and Life‑Saving Rules, and complete required cybersecurity training. Perform routine and non‑routine testing to determine product quality status as per specifications and inline schedules. Accurately capture all data in the LIMS system. Maintain laboratory cleanliness and housekeeping standards. Apply statistical process control (SPC) to laboratory results. Operate and troubleshoot testing equipment, performing preventive maintenance and reporting abnormalities. Schedule work to meet priorities and maintain professional laboratory technique. Participate in safety and quality work teams and contribute to continuous improvement. Manage a 24/7/365 laboratory with rotating shifts and overtime as required. Work safely with ethylene oxide, complying with all safety protocols. Physical and Environmental Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move sample trays up to 30 lbs. Work 20‑foot walking distances, lift 5‑gallon containers, and work in temperature‑controlled conditions. Wear a respirator or gas mask as required and observe all environmental controls. Operate within environments that may contain fumes, dust, gases or poor ventilation. Education and Experience High School diploma or GED with at least eight hours of college‑level chemistry coursework. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field preferred. Minimum two years of industrial laboratory experience (chemicals, fuels, polymers, or R/D). Technical Skills Proficiency with MS Office and LIMS systems (e.g., Sample Manager, LabWare, BLISS). Experience with laboratory instrumentation and preventive maintenance. Knowledge of OSHA safety procedures and electronic data systems. Behavioral Skills Initiative and bias for action with a focus on quality and safety. Strong teamwork and partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Problem‑solving, judgment, and prioritization in a fast‑moving environment. Commitment to continuous improvement and efficient work practices. Performance Indicators Zero injuries or high‑impact incidents in the laboratory. Meeting or exceeding SHE and quality metrics and production goals. Asset care, 20‑Principles, ISO compliance achieved. Completion of assigned action items and annual performance targets.
