Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer drives the evaluation, design, and execution of engineered solutions that improve production performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. This role independently owns mechanical design projects from concept through commissioning and partners cross-functionally to optimize manufacturing methods, equipment capabilities, and operational performance.
Responsibilities
Own mechanical design projects from concept through commissioning.
Develop 3D models, layouts, and fabrication drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
Design custom equipment, tooling, and process improvements.
Perform engineering calculations (stress, flow, pressure drop, performance analysis).
Lead vendor selection, parts sourcing, and equipment procurement.
Commission and validate equipment performance on the production floor.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, R&D, FSQ, and product management.
Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3+ years of mechanical design experience in manufacturing or industrial environment.
Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (SolidWorks acceptable equivalent).
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on understanding of fabrication and machine design.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage and execute projects.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Experience in food processing or packaging equipment preferred.
Salary
$90,000.00 to $130,000.00
