They build real-money experiences on top of mobile games and collectibles, and their consumer apps lead their App Store categories. The platform already processes billions in volume per year, serves millions of users, generates hundreds of millions in revenue, and is growing more than 10x year over year.The roleAs a Senior Backend Engineer you will own a large slice of the core engineering system and ship consumer-facing features that move top-line metrics from day one. It is a high-agency seat on a lean, elite team where the people who deliver fast earn more scope quickly.What you'll do• Build and ship consumer-facing backend features end to end, directly improving core business metrics• Solve hard, data-driven problems like optimal matchmaking, anti-fraud, and recommendation systems• Design and scale the financial and transactional rails that support billions in annual volume• Raise engineering velocity through better CI/CD pipelines and experimentation platforms• Drive projects from idea to production with minimal hand-holdingWhat we're looking for• 3 to 8 years of backend software engineering experience, ideally in Go• A track record at a fast-growing startup or an org with a genuinely high engineering bar• Proven end-to-end ownership of consumer-facing backend features with measurable business impact• Experience with data-driven systems such as matchmaking, anti-fraud, or recommendation engines• Proficiency in Go, or the ability and drive to ramp on it fast• BS in Computer Science or a related technical fieldBonus points• Hands-on experience improving CI/CD pipelines or building experimentation platforms• Background in real-money, marketplace, payments, or high-volume transactional systems• Comfort operating in AWS and KubernetesCompensation and benefits• Base salary of $200K to $400K, depending on experience• Competitive equity• Visa sponsorship available (open to transfers)Location and work model• On-site 5 days a week in San Francisco (Levi's Plaza)
