Electrical Engineer
The Senior Project Engineer – Senior Electrical Commissioning plays a critical role in ensuring the successful commissioning of electrical systems in mission-critical environments such as data centers. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise in electrical system design, construction, and commissioning processes. The ideal candidate combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and validating electrical systems and controls. Key Responsibilities • Commission electrical distribution equipment and controls, including medium-voltage systems.• Review electrical system designs for compliance with client requirements and project goals. • Prepare commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules. • Execute commissioning activities from design through occupancy phases. • Attend and document factory acceptance testing (FAT) of equipment. • Perform functional and performance testing using appropriate instrumentation. • Document all field procedures, results, and observations accurately. • Prepare detailed reports on system performance and recommend technical solutions. • Coordinate and execute field activities with project teams and stakeholders. • Maintain daily commissioning logs and reports. • Mentor and support Associate Project Engineers. • May be required to lead commissioning meetings or speak on technical topics • Attend relevant project coordination and schedule meetings as necessary • May be required to lead commissioning meetings or speak on technical top • Train and guide both Associate Project Engineers and Project Engineers on roles & responsibilities • Respond promptly and professionally to client and team inquiries. • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and protocols. Key Equipment Knowledge • Generators and Paralleling Switchgear • Transformers (High/Medium/Low Voltage) • UPS and Battery Systems • Switchgear and Main Switchboards • PLC and Switching Controls • EPMS, ATS, STS, PDU, RPP, Busways • Grounding and Lighting Control Systems Qualifications Education & Experience: • BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of mission-critical project experience, OR • 8+ years of commissioning experience in relevant industries Skills & Competencies: • Background in mission-critical facility commissioning • Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive problem solver • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently • Familiarity with ASHRAE, BCxA, and NETA standards • Experience with BMS and EPMS systems • Proficient in using electrical test instrumentation • Team-oriented with a client-first mindset Preferred Certifications: • Professional Engineer (PE) License and/or commissioning certification Travel Policy: • 75% if candidate not based Locally Why Join Us? • Work on cutting-edge projects in mission-critical environments • Collaborate with industry-leading professionals • Opportunities for career growth and professional development
