Cleveland Steel Container, a World Class Steel Pail and Can Manufacturing company, is seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and customer-oriented individual that has a positive attitude and shares the values of our company culture, which is built around teamwork, family, honest communication and producing desirable results for our Detroit, MI manufacturing facility.Key Responsibilities:Pack finished products in accordance with established specifications, including quantity and layout requirementsSupply the can-making production line with required materials, including components, pallets, and pads, to support manufacturing ordersPerform ongoing visual inspections of finished products and pallet configurations to ensure quality standards are metPromptly report any quality issues, equipment malfunctions, or process concerns to the Production ManagerDevelop and maintain a working knowledge of product specifications, components, and basic quality standards (training provided)Assist with inventory counts and related activities as neededMonitor material usage (tinplate, coatings, ends, fittings/handles) and work with planning/purchasing to minimize waste, manage inventories, and avoid stockouts.Experience with production metrics (OEE, scrap rate, downtime codes) and basic use of ERP or MES systems for scheduling and reporting.Qualifications:1-3 years of manufacturing machine operation experience, ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentHigh school Diploma or GED requiredStrong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and precisionGood organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean, orderly work environmentDemonstrated initiative and responsiveness to production needsAbility to follow established procedures, guidelines, and safety requirementsStrong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team membersFlexibility and availability to meet production demandsCleveland Steel Container was founded in 1963 to provide customers with a dependable steel pail. Currently, we have four pail plants located strategically throughout the United States to support our customers. At our Streetsboro, OH facility, we have a metal stamping plant to provide component parts for our pails. Our Youngstown, OH facility manufactures 1-gallon tin cans and our Detroit, MI facility manufactures various general line cans, such as F-Style, Gallon and Quart round cans. Our goal is to continuously provide our customers with quality pails through excellent service at an outstanding value.
