Business Data Analyst

Business Systems AnalystAnalyzes business processes and practices to focus the design and implementation of information technology solutions that meet customer needs and business initiatives. Applies advanced analytical skills within the functional area. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise. Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices. Solves complex problems and takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. May lead functional teams or projects. Recognized as an expert in their area within the organization. Education requirement: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration). Relevant experience: 6+ years in business analysis, IT systems analysis, and technology implementation. Develop functional specifications by translating business requirements into clear and concise functional documentation. Perform testing and validation by collaborating with QA teams to define test scenarios, validate solutions, and ensure proper functionality. Monitor and evaluate solution performance by tracking and measuring the effectiveness of implemented solutions. Strong understanding of project management processes and principles. IT budget forecasting. Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as SAP, BOBJ, and BPC. Gather, analyze, and review ISO market requirements for enhancements and system updates. Develop, maintain, and optimize VB automations and Excel integration with internal applications. Assess and understand ISO-market technical requirements and develop corresponding VB automations with XSD changes and market rule updates. Communicate application releases and updates with business stakeholders and manage support. Work with offshore teams and provide clear requirements and technical documentation. Perform functional testing of VB and Macro workbooks and end-to-end testing of Excel add-ins with IT groups and support teams. Support day-to-day trade floor operations, troubleshoot issues and errors, and engage internal or external teams for resolution. Document releases and updates, maintaining artifacts for IT-business integrations. Provide front-end support of critical Excel-based IT applications. Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation. Strong experience with Excel-VBA APIs, index matching, VBA automation, and Excel macros. Process map creation using OneNote, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite. Power BI reporting with trend analysis and dashboard customization. Agile/Scrum story writing and backlog maintenance. Experience in application support and the ability to visualize and troubleshoot. Any energy domain experience working with ISO/RTO market interfaces. Supports the NextEra Energy Resources Power Marketing (NEER PMI) trading and scheduling applications suite across various ISOs in the U.S. Supports and maintains mission-critical Hydra/VB applications. Works closely with the energy trading group for requirements gathering and application issue troubleshooting. Applications support business-critical operations with stringent, daily trading windows.
