Senior Employment Law Attorney

Job Description Role SummaryOur client, a well-established mid-sized law firm with a strong regional presence, is seeking a Senior Employment Law Attorney to join its employment practice. This role involves advising employers on a broad range of employment law issues and representing clients in complex employment litigation.The position requires substantial experience defending employers in matters involving discrimination claims, wage and hour disputes, class and representative actions, as well as trade secret and unfair competition matters. This individual will also play a leadership role in mentoring associates and contributing to the growth of the employment practice through business development and client relationship management.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide legal counsel and representation to employers across a wide range of employment law mattersDefend clients in litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour claims, and related disputesHandle class and representative employment actions under applicable lawsRepresent clients in court, arbitration, and administrative proceedings before federal and state agenciesManage matters involving trade secrets and unfair competitionDevelop and maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted advisorContribute to business development efforts, including maintaining and expanding a portable book of businessDeliver client trainings and presentations on employment law topicsSupervise and mentor associates within the practiceRequired QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolActive membership in a U.S. state bar (California licensure required)Minimum of 8 years of employment law litigation experienceDemonstrated experience handling complex employment disputes, including discrimination and wage and hour mattersExperience representing clients in court, arbitration, and administrative proceedingsStrong analytical, negotiation, communication, and client advisory skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentAbility to bring at least a partial portable book of businessPreferred QualificationsExperience advising employers across the full spectrum of employment law issuesPrior experience at a large national law firm or a reputable regional or mid-sized firmExperience with:Employment discrimination and retaliation claims under federal and state lawWage and hour disputes and related litigationClass and representative employment actionsTrade secret and unfair competition mattersLeadership experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneysCompensation & Work ModelBase Salary: $225,000 – $275,000 annuallyIncentive Compensation: Approximately 10%–20% of collected feesEquity: Potential equity participation opportunitiesEmployment Type: Full-timeWork Model: HybridVisa Sponsorship: Not availableAttorneys may be based in one of our client's Bay Area offices, with occasional travel between locations as needed.
