Truesdell Corporation is currently seeking an Estimator to join our Western Region team based out of Tempe, Arizona. This candidate will be energetic, detail oriented and quickly able to switch gears. Estimator Responsibilities:
Collect and analyze data that impacts cost of labor, materials, supplies, and equipment to maximize quality and accuracy of bid in a timely manner.
Review and compile “take-off” quantities, existing cost history, and calculations to ensure accuracy.
Participate in estimate and bid reviews with Senior / Chief Estimator and Management to develop estimating skills.
Analyze competition and communicate with owners, subcontractors, public and private entities to ensure competitiveness.
Review drawings, specifications and proposed project site conditions.
Record findings and solicit input from field operations to include in final project estimate.
Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase competitiveness of the bid.
Analyze and communicate bidding risks, strategies and present estimate / bid to Senior and Chief Estimator for review to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure understanding of scope of job.
Maintain and support all internal safety, quality, and environmental standards and procedures.
What You Will Bring to Us:
Must be computer literate and able to utilize Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Must be able to read and understand specs, drawings, and proposals
Must be familiar with CIP/ Precast structures that utilize falsework
Must have experience with major public or private works projects
Must be able to deal with quantity take-off and able to summarize using an Excel spreadsheet
Must have good communication skills and be able to work well within a team
4 years technical degree preferred
Knowledge of Hard Dollar estimating software experience is a plus
Compensation and Benefits Package:
Salary is determined by experience and education, the range for this position is $80k-105k.
