Assistant Golf Professional
Pay$20 per hourGeneral PurposeIn collaboration with the Head Golf Professional, administers all daily operations including, but not limited to: sales (rounds, merchandise, range, rental program); operating POS system; Tee Sheet management; Tournament Operations; GPS system; directly supervises starters, marshals, and range attendants. Serves as the Guest Services Manager and directly oversees all facets of the Guest Services staff including club/shoe rental management. (See Guest Service Managers position description for a complete overview of the Guest Services Manager's duties.)Administers all point of sales application revisions and needs as it applies to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and guest billing.Assists Head Golf Professional with all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation.Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-in, and receives payments from guests. Resolves discrepancies as it applies to duplicate charges and over or under payment. Tracks all force posts and no show charges as applicable.Initiates and promotes golf and range activities.Works closely with the Head Golf Professional on all Bay Golf Course group outings and events assisting when necessary preparations for scorecards, cart placards, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, tee gifts, pairing sheets, on course competitions, range preparations and hole assignments.Maintains a clean and orderly cart barn and back of the house facilities.Assists retail buyer with procurement and merchandise and shop assistants with merchandising and sales.Assists the Head Golf Professional in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Ensures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Assists in developing ongoing training programs.Assists in monitoring business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.Responsible for maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.Oversees the Bay Café Snack Shop operations including: all facets of staffing (hiring, training, scheduling, reviewing, disciplining), ordering products, reconciling invoices, compiling information, updating the SOP manual and controlling the POS/menu functions.Conducts staff meetings with subordinates.Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.Regular and reliable attendance.Performs other duties as required.Education/ExperienceAssociate's degree (AA); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical DemandsRegularly stands, walks and sits. Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Frequently uses hands; reaches with hands and arms. Frequently talks or hears; tastes or smells. Occasionally lifts up to 70 pounds.Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather). Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
