Outside Sales Representative
Job SummaryThe Outside Sales Representative (OSR) will call on existing and new clientele, and work with builders, designers, General Contractors, and all other decision-makers in the sales and installation process. This key role will drive sales volume, maintain/ grow existing accounts, and develop new clientele and sales channel opportunities throughout the assigned sales territory.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentifies and establishes relationships with new and existing clienteleTravels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customersWorks independently yet cooperatively with the company and team's goals and directivesProvides industry-leading service to customers by processing orders and credits promptlyBuilds and promotes strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needsSets up and maintains client displays and merchandising samplesEmphasizes new product promotion during sales calls and onsite visits/meetingsDevelops in-depth knowledge and expertise about all Emser productsResponds to the marketplace by providing value through being a knowledgeable rep with quick follow-upStays abreast of competing markets and provides reports on market movement and penetrationAttends and participates in trade and industry events to increase client knowledge of EmserSuccessful candidates will:Be driven to meet sales goals and enjoy the upside of variable compensation programs that reward exceeding planThrive in a competitive and dynamic sales environmentBe flexible, highly organized, and have a successful history of servicing multiple accounts while consistently achieving and exceeding sales goalsBe able to work independently while simultaneously implementing company-defined sales strategiesBe an expert in influential/collaborative sales and negotiation techniques, including analytical skills that can identify and exploit key opportunitiesEnjoy prospecting for new accounts, setting up / maintaining displays, and introducing our quality products to the marketplaceInstinctively address all customer questions and concerns promptly with business-savvy solution/resolution strategiesQualifications (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience)Successful track record in an outside sales environment (preferably within the flooring or building materials industry)Solid analytical skills in identifying client needs and aligning them with product offeringsDemonstrated expertise in the principles of collaborative sales techniqueExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and maintain positive relationships with all Emser clients, customers, and influencers (internal and external)Ability to analyze market conditions and competition and develop strategic responses to opportunitiesListening skills, communication skills, energy, enthusiasm and enduranceMust be flexible to maximize business opportunities as they ariseAbility to work independently and in a team environment is essentialCollege B.A. / B.S. degree preferredPhysical requirementsStand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.Walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Sit, climb, or balance.Lift and move up to 110 pounds.
