Materials Purchasing Agent

About the OpportunityA large, well-established agricultural organization in Fresno is seeking a Materials Purchasing Agent to support its growing operations. This role is critical to ensuring materials are accurately forecasted, purchased, and available to support production and sales. The position serves as a central planning and analytical hub, partnering closely with Operations, Production, Warehouse, and Accounts Payable teams.This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional, stable organization with strong growth potential and impact day one.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze historical usage, production plans, and sales pacing to forecast material requirements.Translate inventory levels and operational demand into accurate purchase orders.Maintain purchasing calendars and adjust to seasonality and changing demand.Manage vendor relationships, including lead times, pricing, availability, and shipment status.Resolve delivery discrepancies, shortages, damages, and documentation issues in partnership with Warehouse leadership.Coordinate with Accounts Payable to support 3-way matching and invoice resolution.Review inventory balances, cycle count results, and adjustments provided by the Warehouse team.Validate ERP data accuracy prior to issuing purchase orders.Communicate material risks, shortages, and timing concerns to Production and Sales teams.Support material allocation decisions to prevent shortages or excess inventory.Use Power BI dashboards to analyze inventory levels, consumption trends, vendor performance, and forecast accuracy.Perform Excel-based analysis (pivot tables, filters, lookups) to support purchasing decisions.Partner with internal Data and Warehouse teams to ensure purchasing decisions are based on clean, reliable data.Qualifications2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.Produce Inventory experience REQUIREDStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivots, lookups, and data analysis).Experience working with ERP systems in a purchasing or inventory environment.Ability to navigate and interpret Power BI dashboards (report development not required).Strong communication skills with proven vendor management experience.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.Valid driver's license may be required.How to Apply?Please send your resume to k a r l a m@appleone.com under the subject of \"Materials Purchasing Agent\"Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected VeteransThe Know Your Rights poster is available here:https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2023-06/22-088_EEOC_KnowYourRights6.12.pdfThe pay transparency policy is available here:https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/ofccp/pdf/pay-transp_%20English_formattedESQA508c.pdfFor temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, AppleOne is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.We are committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities.
